TheViper qualifies for playoffs after beating ACCM
by Astinox 4 months agoAfter a rough start on Day 1, ACCM needs a good game against Viper to be able to stay relevant in his group. Viper has shown an extremely strong start yesterday. We got the match covered!
Hengehold
An early push by Viper with a combined early castle age, leads to an extreme defense by ACCM. He has to fully wall in and barely manages to catch up. 3 knights get through, which lead to a quick and early GG by ACM after just 12 minutes ingame time. Hengehold is a quick and small map, but this was by far the fastest win in Red Bull Wololo: Londinium yet.
Vulpine
The first time we see Vupline in this event. It's a semi-close map with a lot of option for early agressiveness but good walls. ACCM decides to go for an early push in this match, while Viper walls up. Both players slowed down after that, leading to a decent castle timing for both and a knight transition as well. With a big of back and forth both players utilizing a 3 town center boom right after, however Burgundians had a slight advantage as they have Chevalier available in castle age. After minute 18, the game is extremely even at 70 villagers each.
Both Viper and ACCM then move ahead with aggressive castles, however ACCM does not manage to get his castle up, leading to a huge disadvantage with 1 in his own base instead. Good old DauT castle.
ACCM managed to take map 2 after that build up, resulting in a 1-1.
Stonefront
No walls this time. Just constant and instant push. Does not slow down at all. Nobody on the way to castle age at 11 minutes in the game.Viper commits to a full all-in push, and ACCM has no way of going up currently.
Game slowed down a bit and ACCM tried to counter raid with a few archers, however Viper keeps going in and back constantly. He's extremely far behind in economic numbers now, almost 30 villagers after only 20 minutes ingame.
Viper now wants to hit the nail in the coffin with a forward castle close to ACCMs base. After that castle was finished, ACCM called the GG. 2-1.
Glacis
Second time seeing this map today. ACCM decided to go for a defensive tower opening at the food. ACCM has focused a bit on water, while Viper ignores those ships and pushes straight through with a mixed push.
Viper then decided to transition into elephants which counters ACCMs infantry-only military, which gaave viper a 10 villager lead now. However, the game is still rather even with a slight edge for Viper. ACCM tried a double demolition kill, unfortunately doing nothing!
Viper goes with another aggressive castle and even before finishing it, ACCM calls the GG and leaves ACCM in a really hard position for Day 3 and viper secured his spot for the Odeon playoffs.
